Pursuant to High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the combined Moroccan-American exercise “African Lion 2021” was launched this Monday, June 07, 2021 in Agadir. 

This exercise will continue until June 18, 2021 in the regions of Agadir, Tifnit, Tan Tan, Mehbes, Tafraout, Ben Guerir and Kénitra, involving thousands of multinational militaries and a very large number of land, air and sea equipment. 

This year and for its 17th edition, and in addition to the United States of America and the Kingdom of Morocco, several countries are participating in this great event, notably, Brazil, Great Britain, Canada, Tunisia, Senegal, the Netherlands, Italy and the Atlantic Alliance, in addition to military observers from around thirty countries representing Africa, Europe and America. 

The objectives of this exercise, considered among the most important combined exercises in the world, are numerous: to strengthen the maneuvering capabilities of the participating units, to consolidate the interoperability between the participants in terms of planning and conducting joint operations within the framework of coalition, perfect tactics, techniques and procedures, develop cyber defense skills, train the air component in the conduct of fighter, support and air-to-air refueling operations, consolidate cooperation in the field maritime security, conduct exercises at sea in the field of naval tactics and conventional warfare and conduct humanitarian activities. 

It includes, in addition to training and simulations in command activities and training on operations to fight against violent terrorist organizations, land, airborne, air, maritime and CBRN (Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical) decontamination exercises. . 

In addition, and as part of parallel humanitarian activities, a field medico-surgical hospital will be deployed at Amlen (Tafraout) where medical and surgical services will be provided for the benefit of the local populations of the region, by medical teams. made up of doctors and nurses from the FAR and the US Army.

Seguindo as altas instruções de Sua Majestade o Rei Mohammed VI, Comandante Supremo e Chefe do Estado-Maior General das Forças Armadas Reais (FAR), o exercício combinado marroquino-americano “Leão Africano 2021” foi lançado esta segunda-feira, 7 de junho de 2021, em Agadir. Este exercício continuará até 18 de junho de 2021 nas regiões de Agadir, Tifnit, Tan Tan, Mehbes, Tafraout, Ben Guerir e Kénitra, envolvendo milhares de militares multinacionais e um grande número de equipamentos terrestres, aéreos e marítimos. 

Este ano e pela sua 17ª edição, além dos Estados Unidos da América e do Reino do Marrocos, participam neste grande evento diversos países, Brasil, Grã-Bretanha, Canadá, Tunísia, Senegal, Holanda, Itália e a Aliança Atlântica, além de observadores militares de cerca de trinta países representando a África, Europa e América. 

Os objetivos deste exercício, considerado um dos exercícios combinados mais importantes do mundo, são numerosos: fortalecer a capacidade de manobra das unidades participantes, consolidar a interoperabilidade entre os participantes em termos de planejamento e condução de operações conjuntas no âmbito da coalizão , aperfeiçoar táticas, técnicas e procedimentos, desenvolver habilidades de defesa cibernética, treinar o componente aéreo na condução de caça, apoiar e operações de reabastecimento ar-ar, consolidar a cooperação no campo da segurança marítima, realizar exercícios no mar no domínio naval táticas e guerra convencional e conduzir atividades humanitárias.

Inclui, além de treinamentos e simulações em atividades de comando e treinamento em operações de combate a violentas organizações terroristas, exercícios de descontaminação terrestre, aérea, aérea, marítima e CBRN (Nuclear, Radiológica, Biológica e Química). . Além disso, e como parte de atividades humanitárias paralelas, um hospital médico-cirúrgico de campo será implantado em Amlen (Tafraout), onde os serviços médicos e cirúrgicos serão prestados em benefício das populações locais da região, por equipes médicas formado por médicos e enfermeiras da FAR e do Exército dos EUA.
